In the third episode of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, we return to Tolkien's Atlantis-inspired island kingdom of Numenor, where Galadriel and Halbrand receive a rather rough welcome.

But the communities of the orcs and the harfeet are further illuminated.

The first two episodes of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power aka The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power directed by JA Bayona quite impressed us with their sheer scope, setting, brilliant cast and not least Bear McCreary's great soundtrack.

Does it continue to be just as successful under the direction of Wayne Che Yip ("Utopia")?

Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) and the shipwrecked human Halbrand (Charlie Vickers) were picked up at sea by a ship off Numenor at the end of the last episode.

The gods (Valar) gave the star-shaped island kingdom at the end of the First Age to those humans who fought together with the elves against the dark lord Morgoth.

It's particularly beautiful here and the people live a lot older than normal people from Middle-earth, which is also the reason why Aragorn is already over 80 years old during the War of the Ring.

He is a descendant of Numenor, more specifically a descendant of Isildur (Maxim Baldry) and his father Elendil (Lloyd Owen), who are two of the main characters here and are of course known to Tolkien readers as two of the great heroic figures of the Legendarium.

Elendil comes from a noble family, but appears here as a proud sailor who escorts the two strangers to Numenor to introduce them to Regent Miriel (Cynthia Addai-Robinson) and Chancellor Pharazon (Trystan Gravelle).

Knowing the value of their exclusive homeland, the people of this glorious realm live very isolated from the rest of Middle-earth.

Accordingly, the arrival of misfits after so many generations is a serious matter that is not to be taken lightly.

Accordingly, things are rough at court, which Galadriel's stubbornness only threatens to escalate.

Halbrand knows how to defuse the situation with his silver tongue.
