Big scare in Dubai for Iris Mittenaere.

The former Miss France and Miss Universe 2016 and her spouse, Diego El Glaoui, had to be evacuated from their apartment in Dubai overnight from Sunday to Monday.

The couple were woken up by flames coming from a nearby building.

“We started to hear louder and louder noises.

When we opened the curtains, we saw the chaos,” says the entrepreneur while filming the scene.

The fire affected the Emaar Tower, a building near the Burj-Khalifa in downtown Dubai.

The fire quickly spread to almost all of the 35 floors.

“We got out in 10 seconds after seeing the fire by simply putting on jeans and a T-shirt, says Diego El Glaoui in one of his stories.

(…) We triggered the fire alarm to be sure that our neighbors also evacuated”.

Out of danger, the couple still feared that the fire would spread.

The images shared by the companion of the former Miss showed in particular debris landing on the terrace of their apartment.

Residents temporarily relocated to hotels

“Thank you for your messages but don't worry, we are safe away from the building.

We were at the meeting point with everyone waiting for instructions and have now left, ” quickly wrote Iris Mittenaere on the social network, which later confirmed that no victim was to be counted.

“Everything is fine for us and for all the inhabitants of the building affected by the fire,” she insisted.

"The experience was obviously very scary but to be fair to Emaar, they couldn't have taken better care of us," a resident of the residence told Arabian Business.

The residents have been temporarily relocated to the group's hotels and some of them could quickly return to their accommodation.

In the middle of the afternoon French time, Iris Mittenaere definitively reassured her subscribers, announcing that she had been able to return to her home.
