New professional step in sight for Hugo Clément.
According to our information, the journalist will soon unveil his independent media around societal and environmental issues, called “Vakita”.
A name inspired by the vaquita, a marine animal currently on the verge of extinction and ardently defended throughout the world by ecologists, activists and scientists.
The launch is scheduled for mid-November on a dedicated site, for a monthly subscription and without commitment of five euros.
For the occasion, the author of the book "Rabbits don't eat carrots" and his partner Régis Lamanna-Rodat, with whom he already produces the magazine "Sur le front" for France 5, have recruited six journalists.
The editor-in-chief was entrusted to Axel Roux, who worked for France Télévisions, Le Journal du Dimanche and also Konbini.
A major asset since the new creation will only be available digitally, and will offer a survey in the form of a video every day.
France Télévisions has no involvement in this project
Major point of differentiation: the site claims a bias in the treatment of its subjects.
"The situation is too serious to remain in a posture of
neutrality
", defend its founders.
In addition, at the end of each report, the journalists will propose concrete actions to be carried out for subscribers.
And if the tattooed reporter is now a face of France Télévisions, the public audiovisual group has no involvement in this new project.
The new medium can however count on several investors.
We find there the groups Artemis and Mediawan, Jean-Sébastien Decaux, Jacques-Antoine Granjon, Xavier Niel, Marc Simoncini and the Parisot family.
What influences the treatment of the news?
"The editorial line of Vakita as well as the choice of subjects, fall under the sole competence of Hugo Clément and Régis Lamanna-Rodat, who hold the majority of the capital of the company", specify its creators.
