A Rewe customer bought a pound of bread for 2.09 euros.
At home he read the note more closely - and decided not to touch it and instead to warn.
Munich – I hope he was able to give away the bread successfully.
Because it was actually absolutely enjoyable.
Unless you eat vegan - and that is the case with the user who complained about his Rewe bread in the vegan community on Reddit and warned the others.
As he unfortunately only discovered at home, the product bought for 2.09 euros contains yoghurt powder!

"Yoghurt powder in wholemeal bread at Rewe.
I'm angry and I'm hungry," he writes.
In fact, this entry appears at the very back of the note that can be seen in the matching photo.
There is no promise anywhere that the bread should be vegan.
But those who do without animal products are already asking themselves when they see ingredients like this: Was that necessary?
Rewe bread.
"Sometimes you wonder why that stuff is in there somewhere," says one Reddit user, adding, "Recently tried to buy ready-made tomato soup for my sick friend.
Then I bought tomatoes and cooked them myself.”
Another user seems to be familiar with the world of bread: "Basically, milk and milk products are in many classic bread doughs, among other things to loosen it (the fat it contains helps), yoghurt also acidifies through the lactic acid it contains." So far, so good.
"But declaring the use at first glance would be the minimum."

The user goes on to the point that it is clearly declared at first glance.
With the conclusion: "Demanding clear and honest product labeling is not a purely vegan issue either, it basically affects everyone that you should get what is on the label and not what the food industry puts in from behind." Is the declaration at Rewe- Bread clear enough or not?
