She was a great protagonist of Italian cinema, she was born in Subiaco on 4 July 1927, she was therefore 95 years old.

Last September she, the actress, known to a generation as la

Bersagliera

, was discharged from the clinic after a fall at home which had caused her to fracture her femur for which she had been operated on.

Already four years ago Lollo had ended up in the hospital due to a domestic accident.

On that occasion, the actress was taken into care by the doctors of Sant'Eugenio, a hospital not far from her villa on the Appia Antica, and discharged a couple of days later.

The femur accident occurred two weeks into the electoral round of 25 September in which Lollobrigida was a candidate in Latina for the single-member constituency of the Senate, and in other constituencies in the proportional plurinominal one, for the 'sovereign and popular Italy' list, which brings together Communist Party, Socialist Homeland, Civil Action, Again Italy and Reconquering Italy.

In her career she has won, among others, seven David di Donatello: her fame is linked to the new Italian cinema of neorealism: she works with Pietro Germi ("The city defends itself") and with Carlo Lizzani ("Achtung banditi") in the exact middle of the last century, carving out roles of vigorous popular passion in which he refines his self-taught acting, imprinting his personality on it.

However, the first personal success is outside the borders: the French "Fanfan la Tulipe" with Gerard Philipe in 1952. She starred for Rene Clair, Alessandro Blasetti, Mario Monicelli and Steno, Mario Soldati and finally became a diva in her homeland with the triumphant "Pane amore and fantasy" by Luigi Comencini (1953) including a successful sequel always paired with Vittorio De Sica.

In recent years she had dedicated herself above all to art and photography, with many exhibitions, she never stopped making plans, the latest being a book of drawings.

Her last years were also marked by legal events.

Since 2021, the diva had a support administrator appointed by the Court to protect her assets, as requested in the legal action by her son Andrea Milko Skofic.

At the center of the investigation activity of the prosecutors in Piazzale Clodio is the former manager of the actress, Andrea Piazzolla, indicted on charges of circumventing an incapable person.

Antonio Salvi also ended up on trial with him, the man who allegedly acted as intermediary with an auction house for the sale of about 350 items owned by Lollobrigida.
