(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 12 - The trade union organizations Filt-Cgil, Fit-Cisl, Uiltrasporti, Ugl Ferrovieri, SmlFast Confsal and Orsa Ferrovie have proclaimed a national strike by Trenitalia personnel, from 9.00 to 17.00 on Friday 14 April 2023. The strike -
recalls Trenitalia in a note - could have a significant impact on railway traffic and lead to total and partial cancellations of Trenitalia's Frecce, Intercity and Regional trains.
The effects, in terms of cancellations and delays, may occur even before and extend beyond the time the strike ends.
During the trade union protest, however, some national journeys will be scheduled, listed in the appropriate tables of trains to be insured in the event of a strike, which can be consulted in the section Trains guaranteed in the event of a strike on the Trenitalia website.
Trenitalia, taking into account the possible important repercussions on the service, invites all passengers to inquire before going to the station.
In the meantime, the unions reiterate the reasons for the stop: "Since the end of the pandemic phase, the working conditions of both railway workers and employees of cleaning contractors have in fact worsened", explain Filt Cgil, Fit Cisl, Uiltrasporti, UglFerrovieri, Orsa Ferrovie and Fast Confsal on the reasons for the 8-hour national strike, from 9 to 17, on Friday 14 April by all Trenitalia personnel.
"We need - ask the trade union organizations - an adequate recruitment plan and a greater balance in the scheduling of shifts that takes into account the reconciliation of working times with those of private life. Train crews live with an excessive saturation of service shifts to the point of reaching failure to grant vacation days. The issue of assaults on staff on board trains and in stations must also be addressed".
