Again and again, products have to be recalled due to defects in production. Now it hit vegan nuggets from Verdino.
Munich – Some mistakes can happen in the production of food. Whether bacteria, packaging residues or incorrect imprints – products often have to be recalled as a result.
Vegan nuggets need to be recalled
The plant-based nuggets in the 180 gram pack from Verdino are a supposedly small flaw. The wrong best-before date was printed on some packages. Instead of April 17, 2023, it says April 17, 2024. This is a small mistake that can have significant consequences for consumers if the food is consumed well after April 17, 2023. There was also an error in the best-before date for a ham that was supposed to last for 20 years.

According to the company Verdino, the affected product is said to have been sold only in Austria. If the plant-based nuggets with the best-before date of April 17, 2024 were purchased, there is an urgent warning against the consumption of this product. "For safety reasons, the entire inventory of the product, i.e. ALL best-before dates/batches, has been removed from sale," the manufacturer said.
This product is affected by the recall:
- Manufacturer: Verdino Green Foods Romania SRL
- Product: Plant-based nuggets in a 180 gram pack
- Affected batch: Best before: April 17, 2024
- Return: Also possible without a receipt in the supermarket
- Consumption is strongly discouraged
More and more products contaminated with listeria during production
Affected products that have already been purchased can be returned to the supermarket. The manufacturer points out that no receipt is required for this. "The company Verdino Green Foods Romania SRL regrets the incident and apologizes to all customers for the inconvenience caused," Verdino said.
