Like the opening shot for the Nazi murder spree that marked tonight, 85 years ago, the murder spree that began in the envelope would have continued over many years and spread out in space as in time

On the night of November 9-10, 1938, Kristallnacht occurred. It's hard not to draw a line between that Kristallnacht and Kristallnacht morning of October 7. Against the backdrop of the enemy's surprise, many were quick to compare October 6, '73 to October 7, '23, but the national historical calendar shows another juxtaposition of dates that gives perspective on the fundamental change we underwent as a people when we established a state. Those who talk only about the omission of October 7 do not understand the magnitude of the event.

One of the things we can learn from October 7 is that Israel's "illusion of persecution" is not an illusion. The pogroms of 19 gradually faded away in the national memory, the last appendix to the pogroms of the 20th century. The Holocaust was an exile event that took place even before the middle of the <>th century. The struggle against the Arab people, with all its horrors, was reduced to a struggle over borders against a group that sought to differentiate itself nationally.

And here came October 7 and showed us that in every generation they rise up against us to destroy us. This is not an illusion. People slaughter Jews - because they are Jews. The murderers are not interested in their position on the national issue. They are not interested in their position on the issue of judicial reform. They frantically call their parents and say that their hands are covered with the blood of Jews they murdered, and their parents cry with joy at the news.

If they could, they wouldn't settle for 1,000 or more, not even a million. If they could, they would not be satisfied with the Gaza envelope or one day.

Tonight marks the 85th anniversary of Kristallnacht, and like the opening shot for the Nazi murder spree that marked that cursed night - the murder spree that began in the envelope would have continued over many years, spreading in space as in time. But even this is not the magnitude of the event.

One of the main narratives used to justify the existence of the State of Israel is that we are here because of the Holocaust.

We deserve our own country and our own army, because otherwise they will murder us all. NEVER AGAIN. This is the slogan that represents this narrative. This is the slogan against which the security and defense systems failed on the morning of October 7.

But it is precisely from this that the magnitude of the event becomes clear: if we do not live in an illusion, if we genuinely rise up against us in every generation, then the fact that in 75 years only once have the bastards succeeded in massacring civilians so severely is a tremendous success.

And here came October 7 and showed us that in every generation they rise up against us to destroy us. This is not an illusion. People slaughter Jews - because they are Jews. The murderers are not interested in their position on the national issue. They are not interested in their position on the issue of judicial reform

The murder spree after Kristallnacht went on and on. But if the terrible Kristallnacht of October 7 lasted only one day, no more, until the security forces came to their senses and beat the enemy who was eager to continue carrying out his plot but could no longer carry out his plot - this is a tremendous success.

That's the size of the event.

It turns out that huge waves crash on us every day, just like on November 9, 1938, like in Farhud, like in Wormiza, like everywhere throughout the ages. And our security forces are a wall in shape.

Indeed, there was a breach in the wall and for one black day the defensive force failed, a failure that exposed the terrible danger for all to see. But only for one day. It turns out that more than that will not be. The State of Israel, the security forces and the volunteers of the people have proven that indeed, never again.
