Record heat in Scandinavia, rain and snow storms in Spain, temperatures above average also in Italy. A month after its inception, winter is increasingly anomalous with extreme events even beyond the Alps. This was underlined by 3bmeteo.com meteorologist Edoardo Ferrara.
"In Scandinavia - he says - a new record value of 14 degrees has been reached in the Trondelag region. On the central-southern Scandinavian sectors, the temperatures have also been above the average of 10-12 degrees, up to 6-8 above the normal in England, on the other hand, Spain has dealt with a storm responsible for torrential rains, gusts of hurricane wind and violent storms on the east coast, temperatures were also below the average of 6-8 degrees with two victims of hypothermia in Valencia and a lot of snow in the Pyrenees ".
Italy, meanwhile, is still struggling with higher than average temperatures, especially in the Center. "The real winter - they observe from 3bmeteo.com - will continue to be the great absentee not only in Italy but also on most of Europe at least until the beginning of February". In this winter dominated by high pressure, however, there will be room for a second Atlantic disturbance. The front will reach Italy on Friday evening with rising clouds from the West and first rains over Sardinia, Liguria, Tuscany, extending to Lazio and part of the Po Valley ".
"It will be the prelude - continues Ferrara - to a markedly variable weekend. Saturdays are expected to rain in the Center and on the plains of the Northeast, while in the Northwest it will pass to a drier weather. It will snow on the northern Apennines up to below 800-1000m, over 1200-1600m on the central one, little or nothing in the Alps. Dry even in the South. Sunday will pass between irregular clouds and sunny moments.
