Increase the safety of those who travel to transport goods. This is the aim of the new memorandum of understanding signed by Anas (FS Italiane Group) and the Italian Red Cross in collaboration with the Register of Haulers.
The memorandum of understanding provides for various initiatives in favor of travelers. The first, which has already been operational on the Grande Raccordo Anulare since yesterday, is "Save the Trucker", a project entirely dedicated to road hauliers, a category at the forefront during the COVID-19 health emergency, whose commitment to guaranteeing constant supply of essential goods proved to be decisive for the country's economic and social stability.
The initiative will take place, from today and until 21 June 2020, at specific times from Monday to Friday, as well as on the GRA, also on the A2 "Mediterranean Highway" and on the E45 / 3bis "Tiberina" state road. Along these routes, some information and health points were set up in some service and refreshment areas selected from those on the Anas network, where volunteers from the Italian Red Cross will be available to road transport operators to carry out temperature screening, the free delivery of disinfectant gel packs, free distribution of PPE, personal protective equipment (such as masks and latex gloves) and to provide all information relating to Covid-19.
