"The Argentine Air Force regrets the recent loss of one of its members, in this case of civilian personnel Ivana Modica, especially in such dire circumstances, which are public knowledge. At this very painful moment, the aeronautical family accompanies their loved ones dear colleagues and friends and pray for the eternal rest of his soul. Likewise, it is reported that the Institution has proceeded to carry out the immediate dismissal of the femicide Javier Galván, making it clear that this type of behavior will never be tolerated, "he

published in his Instagram account of the air division of the Argentine Armed Forces.

Javier Galván (44) was an Air Force Flight Test pilot with 3,090 flight hours.

Even in this work context, it was where he met Ivana (47), with whom he had moved to live in a rented house in La Falda in December, although she had denounced him months ago.

After the discovery of the woman's body, the Cosquín Prosecutor, Jorgelina Gómez, decided to modify the accusation against the femicide and accuse him of "qualified homicide", at the same time requesting his transfer to Bouwer's Cordovan prison.

The Air Force fired Galván after his confession to the crime and the discovery of the body of Ivana Modica.

The lifeless body of Ivana, the woman who had been missing since the night of last Thursday 11 of this month, was found this Saturday at dawn in the area of the Camino del Cuadrado de Córdoba, after her partner, who was detained, confess its authorship and indicate the place.

On the night of this Friday, before being transferred to the Bouwer prison,

Galván asked to testify at the

Cosquín

prosecutor's office

, and there he admitted that he had been the Modica femicide, after which he indicated the place where he had left the body.

After the discovery of the body and the confirmation of the fact, the body was transferred to the judicial morgue of the city of Córdoba where the autopsy will be carried out to determine the causes and date of the death of Modica, who was seen for the last time last Thursday February 11 before having a discussion with Galván.

After agreeing to be the murderer, Galván came to the place where the body was found to indicate to the investigators the exact point, before an important operation in which he was guarded by personnel of the special police group ETER.

Eight days of search were those carried out by the different Fire, Police and Civil Defense teams, in operations ordered by the prosecution and which had several raking sites, following different leads.

In the first instance, a search was made in areas near the La Banderita hill, the La Falda dam and the road to Pampa de Olaen, and this Friday in the vicinity of the local cemetery, where the researchers conducted an exhaustive search, although without obtaining results.

Galván's arrest and the accusation arose from the "contradictions" detected in his testimonial statement and for "violating the distancing order" that was imposed months ago, after a complaint that Modica had made for gender violence.

Ivana Mariela Modica (47) had met Galván at work, as she was an administrative officer in the Air Force, where the murderer was a pilot.

Although it is an exempt crime, the investigators always preferred to keep Galván in custody until the woman is found, which finally happened this morning.

Ivana communicated for the last time with her daughter Nicole last Thursday the 11th

around midnight, when she exchanged messages with her cell phone.

Galván made the police report for the disappearance of her partner the next day, Friday the 12th, when she said that she had not heard from her since she went to work at 6.30 that day.

Likewise, the murderer and accused had told the police that it was probable that the woman had gone out for a walk in the area of Cerro La Banderita, in La Falda, so based on that information a search operation was mounted with personnel from Firefighters, Police, Civil Defense and other organizations, both by land with dogs, and by air with drones and a helicopter.

However, as the hours passed and as a result of the contradictions in the man's statement, the prosecutor requested his arrest and focused the search first on the La Falda dam, then on the road to the Pampa de Olaen and in the vicinity of the couple's home.
