A car driver in Rottenburg am Neckar, Baden-Wuerttemberg, piled from the scene of the accident after a serious traffic accident - and left two passengers in the car lying on the roof in a water basin.
According to the police, the man was traveling too fast, so the car came off a road in a left curve.
The car broke through two fences, fell about four meters into a water retention basin and was left upside down.
Complicated recovery of the car
According to the police, the driver and the two women were still able to leave the car themselves, but the man then fled the scene of the accident and left his two passengers behind.
One of the two, a 22-year-old, suffered serious injuries.
An ambulance took her to a clinic.
The second passenger was unharmed.
The accident was apparently "out of pure display," as the investigators said: The two women had probably only met the driver shortly before the accident at a gas station, apparently he wanted to impress them with his car and his supposed driving skills.
According to the investigators, the fugitive has not yet been captured, the search is in full swing.
The recovery of the accident vehicle turned out to be so difficult that the fire brigade had to help.
The police put the property damage at around 10,000 euros.
