Facebook's internal research and development group, NPE Team, today launched its latest experiment, Hotline, an application in public beta testing.
Techcrunch, who first identified it, describes it as a mix between Clubhouse and Instagram live, as it allows creators to answer questions sent, live, by listeners with the particularity of being able to take advantage of both the audio channel and video.
Hotline is led by Eric Hazzard, who joined Facebook when the giant acquired its previous project, the 'tbh' app focused on question and answer sessions between experts and users, on various topics.
With Hotline, Hazzard plans to bring the same metrics back to a broader but business-focused stage.
The first to test the app are indeed the professionals: American real estate investor Nick Huber held a live broadcast tonight, ahead of the others.
The interface of Hotline is very similar to that of Clubhouse, minimalist as much as possible, with the bulletin board of the live shows in progress and, within each room, the list of participants.
Curiously, to access a connection with Twitter and not Facebook, which is the owner of the platform, is required.
We do not yet know any global release timing of the app, as well as the presence, or not, of support for both the queen platforms of the mobile market, iOS and Android.
