(ANSA) - ROME, 20 JUL - It will be a long summer full of wine-related events, the one scheduled in Montepulciano (Siena), home of the first Italian DOCG, the Vino Nobile diMontepulciano.
It starts from the first event on the bill, the Noble Music Summer, the pop music review that will be hosted by the Enoliteca consortium, inside the Fortezza di Montepulciano.
Every Thursday and Sunday evening, starting at 9pm and until 11.30pm, musical artists will take turns to provide the background to the tastings of all the labels of the denomination.
First appointment Thursday 21 July with the singer Selene Lungarella.
The review will end on Thursday 11 August.
The most anticipated event of the year will however be the twentieth anniversary of A Tavola con il Nobile, the food and wine award conceived by the journalist of Tg2 Bruno Gambacorta, promoted by the Consorzio delVino Nobile di Montepulciano in collaboration with the Magistratodelle Contrade del Bravìo delle Botti, the historic race for lestrade of the Sienese village.
This year the award will take place on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 August and, as mentioned, it will manifest its second decade.
Starting from the same days and for the whole following week, within the ottocontrade it will be possible for everyone to taste the dish in competition paired with Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
An award, A Tavolacon il Nobile, which over the years has given the opportunity to recover over 180 traditional recipes,
bringing back the work of housewives and passing on the gastronomic tradition of the past.
Numerous publications collect the recipes of the award which over the years has taken on an anthropological and social weight so as to draw attention to the popular traditions of the area.
As a prologue to the award, one of the historical events of the Poliziana summer also returns after the pandemic: Cantine inPiazza.
On Friday 19 August, in the heart of Montepulciano, PiazzaGrande, over twenty wineries will create a circle in the square by offering their labels for tasting to the many tourists and not only who will be present.
Appointment starting at 8 pm with the opening of the tasting counters which will also be accompanied by a tasting of typical products of the territory.
This event is also promoted by the Consorziodel Vino Nobile di Montepulciano in collaboration with the Magistrato delle Contrade.
