Against the background of the failure to replace the embryos, about 100 women demand to have genetic tests done and to move to another hospital for further treatment.

Against the background of the failure to replace the embryos in Assuta, Israel - more than 100 infertile patients are requesting to remove their embryos or eggs from the hospital, and move to continue treatment at another hospital, due to what they call a "crisis of trust". According to them, the hospital refuses their request and piles up Difficulties.

This is part of a group of about 200 female patients who joined the "Victims' Struggle Headquarters of the Fertility Department in Assuta, Rashtrakshahi".

They demand that genetic tests be performed on women who were treated on dates close to those when, allegedly, the failure to replace the embryos occurred.

"There are a lot of female patients who are considering this thing, to go and transfer the embryos from Assuta Rishon to Ramat Hayal or other places," says Orian Cohen Reisner, from the Victims' Struggle headquarters.

"I personally have no embryos left, but women who have genetic material there want to receive an answer regarding the issue of tests for the embryos, as well as to switch to treatment elsewhere. At the moment, the most logical thing is to give everyone who is treated there to simply have the option of being treated elsewhere. The doctors also do not allow A choice, even though they work in other places. The Ministry of Health should intervene in this case, but the feeling in general is one of dragging its feet, both on the part of the Ministry of Health and Assuta."

"There is no answer or hotline"

The patients' struggle also focuses on the possibility of performing genetic tests on the fetuses of patients who wish to do so.

Next week, a petition will also be submitted to the court on this issue.

"We are troubled by Assuta's lack of regard for all female patients. There is no answer or hotline, there is no one who will stand up and accept responsibility, and this is a very serious thing considering that it is a private hospital.

"Assuta started handling inquiries in a measured and sparse manner, only for women who they thought were related to the date of treatment.

In this respect, there is a very limited number that has received reference.

The doctors had a Zoom call with all the patients, but they admitted that they didn't know either."

Last week, the Ministry of Health instructed not to oblige parents who were treated at the fertility unit in Asuta Rosh Laz to carry out a test to identify a genetic link to the fetuses, but these couples could request a genetic test if they wanted to, after receiving permission from the court. Last week, Assuta Rosh Laz turned to 22 women who were treated in the proximity of times and location to the event, and began to offer them professional accompaniment.

Masuta said: "Since the discovery of the serious incident, Assuta has been activating the hotline every day. The absolute majority of patients continue to express their trust in Assuta Rashlat and the medical teams, and only a few patients have asked to explore the possibility of transferring their embryos or eggs to another hospital.

Assuta will respect any decision made by the patients."
