The info not to be missed

It's an 8th of May... very political. Emmanuel Macron commemorated, this Monday noon, the capitulation of Germany during the ceremony of Victory at the Arc de Triomphe. He must go to Lyon, in the early afternoon, for a tribute to Jean Moulin and the Resistance, while the prefecture of the Rhône has banned gatherings in the area.

Faced with the risk of breakdowns, recurrent since the adoption of the pension reform, any demonstration was banned on Monday near the Champs-Élysées. Screening was also put in place and the public was kept at a safe distance from the parade. In Lyon, the situation could be tense with calls to demonstrate – which could gather several hundred people according to a police source – near the Montluc prison memorial, where the tribute ceremony will take place.

The Rhône prefecture has banned all gatherings in this area. The CGT had filed an application for interim relief against this ban, which was rejected by the courts. "The best tribute that can be paid (to the Resistance) is to defend their heritage, that (...) of Social Security and pay-as-you-go retirement," noted the CGT of the Rhône.

What to remember also

  • Jean-Michel Aulas leaves the head of OL. This is a page that is turning for Olympique Lyonnais. The mythical Jean-Michel Aulas is no longer president of the club. OL issued a statement on Monday in which it announced that John Textor, the club's new owner, would replace him. However, Jean-Michel Aulas was to remain executive president for a period of three years after the purchase of the club, but due to disagreements with the buyer, he left his post and became honorary president, after having been at the head of the club since 1987.
  • Zemmour's son presented to an investigating judge. Following his custody for causing a serious accident in a state of intoxication on Saturday, the eldest son of Eric Zemmour was presented to an investigating judge on Monday morning for his indictment. As a reminder, two people were seriously injured in the accident that Hugo Zemmour is accused of having caused. The son of the candidate in the last presidential election would have hit a scooter while driving at high speed after refusing him a priority, while he had 1.6 g of alcohol per liter of blood, a level three times higher than the authorized limit.
  • An ultra-right demonstration in Paris. Several hundred people demonstrated Saturday in Paris to celebrate the 29th anniversary of the death of Sebastien Deyzieu, a far-right activist close to the ex-GUD. They displayed black flags marked with the Celtic cross and red smoke. The left denounces the "tacit complicity" of the government in this demonstration which brought together two former treasurers of Marine Le Pen's micro-party.

It's about you

Who says "long weekend"... says "traffic jams". Bison futé sees red this Monday in Île-de-France, but green on the rest of the country. In the direction of departures, green dominates throughout the France, specify the forecasts. This Monday also marks the last day of school holidays for zone C, which includes the academies of Paris, Versailles, Créteil, Toulouse and Montpellier, which leads all the more French to be on the roads.
