Julia Quinn
After graduating from Harvard University, Julia Quinn originally had a plan to become a doctor. However, she used the time she had to bridge until she was admitted to medical school to write a historical romance novel. Although she had only moderate success during one semester, she ultimately chose to prioritize writing over study. Soon after, Julia Quinn's novels regularly landed at the top of the New York Times bestseller list - the most important in the United States. In 2008, her novel "Seduced by a Lady" even won first place right away. The romantic entanglements, the refreshingly funny dialogues and the ravishing love scenes in her books convinced not only the reading public, but also critics and colleagues. The prestigious political magazine TIME Magazine dedicated an appreciative article to her in 2003, and in 2010 she was inducted into the Romance Writers of America Hall of Fame after winning the RITA Award three times in a row - the Oscar of the romance scene.
