"The Squid Game" will return for a second season during 2024, Netflix announced last night (Tuesday) in a letter to shareholders that rolled out its achievements in 2023. Since its premiere in 2021, "The Squid Game" has become the streaming giant's most-watched series ever, a title it holds in it to this day.
The series depicts a very violent game pitting the underprivileged against each other who hope to win a huge cash prize, while trying to defeat each other in children's games.
He who does not win loses his life.
The great success resulted in "The Squid Challenge", a reality show that recently aired, last November, in which the game at the base of the series became real tasks with a huge cash prize.
In addition, a video game based on the series is expected to arrive.

"The Squid Game"/Netflix
In its letter, Netflix announced additional content that is expected to arrive this year - a slate that looks rich on the face of it despite the delays caused by the scriptwriters' and actors' strikes in Hollywood.
"The audience will be able to choose between returning hits," it says, "such as 'The Diplomat' season 2, 'Bridgerton' season 3, 'The Squid Game' season 2, 'The Duchess' season 2; unscripted series such as 'Tour de France: in the heart The Platoon' season 2, 'Love Is Blind' season 6, 'Formula 1: The Race to Victory' season 6, 'The Golfers' season 2; and brand new series like 'The Three Body Problem' (based on the bestseller and from the showrunners of 'Game of Thrones') , 'Grisalda' (starring Sofia Vergara, coming out this week), 'The Gentlemen' (by Guy Ritchie), 'Eric' (starring Benedict Cumberbatch), 'Avatar: The Last Airbender', 'One Hundred Years of Loneliness' from Colombia based on the novel by Gabriel Garcia Marquez and 'Sena' from Brazil."
In addition, company executives confirmed that the fourth season of "Emily in Paris" is also expected to air during 2024.
