As part of the mobile exhibition in Barcelona (MWC),

Google announced yesterday (Monday) the release of a collection of new features for the Android operating system

.

"In recent years, we have invested in frequent software updates and in the creation of features that will help keep the devices up-to-date - even outside of the annual operating system upgrades," said Google, adding: "The routine updates allow us to provide critical security and privacy improvements, and ensure that you can enjoy greater control over Your data and additional protection of security features built into Android."

So what's new?

Now, the Chrome browser supports zooming up to 300%, while maintaining the page layout.

Using a stylus or touch on the screen, you can now annotate PDF files in the Google Drive app, and the Google Meet app is getting audio improvements - including noise cancellation during calls on a range of Android-based mobile devices.

And wait, that's not all, new emoji combinations are now available in the Emoji Kitchen - so you can mix, create combinations (a heart emoji that looks like a basketball) and share as stickers via Google Keyboard.

In addition, a new widget will soon be added to the note application Google Keep, with the option to mark to-do lists directly from the home screen and synchronization with a smartwatch that supports the Wear OS operating system.

Also, next week, new animations will arrive in Google Wallet when paying without contact (Tap to pay) that will help confirm your transactions in the store (pay attention to some cheerful penguins and more).

According to Google, in 2022, more than half of the features launched in the quarterly updates support versions of the operating system up to Android 6. "These are billions of active Android devices that regularly benefit from new updates that make them more useful," the company said.
