The man suspected of having stolen a computer and USB keys containing the security plans for the Paris Olympic Games and belonging to a town hall engineer was arrested this Thursday then tried in immediate appearance on Friday at the Paris judicial court, learned Le Parisien from a judicial source, confirming information from BFMTV.

According to our information, this man was sentenced by the Paris criminal court to a 7-month prison sentence, and imprisoned after the hearing.

This man was prosecuted for “theft committed in a vehicle used for the transport of passengers”, “receiving property resulting from a theft”, both as a repeat offender, and “refusing to submit his code of conduct to the judicial authorities”. phone ".

“The flagrant investigation made it possible to attribute other facts of the same nature to him,” explains a judicial source.

Only the bag, empty, was found.

The computer containing the security plans and the USB keys remain untraceable.

According to the town hall of Parie contacted on Wednesday by Le Parisien, the stolen computer only “contained notes for internal use, relating to [the victim's] work on the IT mission of the roads department and travel”.

The Paris prosecutor's office then clarified that these notes were "related to traffic in Paris during the Olympic Games, and not to sensitive security devices".

Theft on the train

The theft took place on Monday February 26 in the evening while an engineer from Paris town hall, in his forties, was traveling by train to Creil (Oise).

As he leaves his seat, he realizes that his bag - placed in the compartment above his seat - has disappeared.

He therefore decided to file a complaint less than an hour later at a police station in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, not far from the Gare du Nord.

Two investigations were then opened.
