A Cadillac Seville bought directly by Elvis Presley was auctioned off by Mecum.
The car in question is a mid-1976s example that the 'King of Rock' bought in January 1976 from Jack Kent Cadillac in Denver, Colorado.
Locals say that Elvis had been on vacation in Vail, Colorado, in 1977 and hired local police officers to take care of his security. On that occasion, the officers honored the voice of 'Blue suede shoes' with a badge and uniform from officers in Colorado.
In return, Elvis invited some agents to spend a night of partying with him. On this occasion, it seems that the singer has decided to give some cars, including the Cadillac now up for auction, to the police.
In total, Elvis allegedly bought nine vehicles during that trip. Some of these have gone missing but are all among the last cars purchased by the singer before he died in mid-August <>.
The Seville being auctioned is being sold in six countries with a number of documents proving its authenticity, starting with a check signed by Elvis Presley himself for payment for the car.
