While it is not uncommon to find unusual objects during an outdoor cleaning operation, the participants of the one organized in Limoges (Haute-Vienne) certainly did not expect to come across such a luxury property. A Rolex watch was found in the Parc de l'Auzette, in the capital of Limousin, on the morning of Sunday, January 14.
About forty people were gathered for this bimonthly operation, which aims to collect waste in the Parc de l'Auzette, located on the banks of Vienne, explains the Populaire du Centre. Traditionally, it is cans, cigarette butts, packaging, glass or plastic bottles, and other capsules that end up in the bags of these volunteers, an operation initiated by the neighborhood council.
The Broken Watch Strap
But this time, it was a luxury watch from the Swiss manufacturer Rolex that was found by the volunteers at work. The bracelet is broken but "it is a real one, with a number," said to France Bleu Limousin Nadine Rivet, assistant to the mayor in charge of early childhood who coordinated this cleaning operation.
"Finding a Rolex among the rubbish may encourage other people to come and help us during the next pick-ups," one of them joked to Le Populaire du Centre. In the meantime, the watch has been handed over to the lost and found in the city of Limoges in the hope of finding the owner of this watch, whose prices in the shops start at 5,000 euros.
