Violent brawl in the Eure: two young victims, one of whom is in an absolute emergency, in Bourg-Achard

The victims, aged 20 and 24, were seriously injured. An investigation has been opened by the public prosecutor's office in Évreux.


Two successive brawls broke out on the night of Monday 15 to Tuesday 16 January, in Bourg-Achard (Eure). Two people, aged 20 and 24, suffered serious stab wounds and one of them is in critical condition.

"At around 1:15 a.m., an altercation broke out on Carlet Street involving a 20-year-old man. The exact circumstances of the brawl are still unclear," said the Paris Normandie news site. The firefighters were called and transported the young man to Rouen University Hospital.

An open investigation

This first incident was reportedly followed by a second attack reported a few minutes later, at 1:24 a.m., this time on rue Grande, still in Bourg-Achard. A 24-year-old man was found injured. Once again, the emergency services intervened and transferred the patient to Rouen University Hospital.

The public prosecutor's office in Évreux announced that it was opening an investigation to "determine the circumstances" of the attack.
