Panic scene in a Var gendarmerie.

During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, a man entered the Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer gendarmerie barracks and entered the home of a soldier to attack his family, report our colleagues from Actu 17 and BFMTV.

The events took place around midnight.

After climbing the gate, the suspect entered the gendarmerie barracks, then into one of the accommodations.

Woke up in the middle of the night, the gendarme asks him to go out but the intruder rebels.

He allegedly attacked the soldier and his partner while shouting “Allah Akbar”, according to a source close to the investigation with Actu17.

The suspect hospitalized under duress

One of the couple's children managed to escape from the home and asked other soldiers in the barracks for help.

The latter managed as best they could to immobilize the suspect and handcuff him.

The gendarme and his partner were transferred to hospital after this attack.

The suspect was placed in police custody.

The latter has since been lifted and he is now hospitalized under restraint.

An investigation into charges of “home invasion” and “violence against a person holding public authority” has been opened, Toulon public prosecutor Samuel Finielz told Actu17.
