American actress Melora Hardin, who starred in one of the main roles in the beloved NBC sitcom "The Office", said that she is "absolutely" in favor of a remake of the series - as a film or as a renewed series, a little more than ten years after it went off the air.

Hardin added that she believes other actors who played in the original series may be interested in a remake, but would want to participate in more than one film.

The 56-year-old Hardin, who played Jen in the sitcom, revealed in an interview on Friday: "I would totally be in it. I think a lot of us would do it. I'd love to do a movie because then it would be quick and we'd do it. I think we could give back All of you for this."

Last September, media news site Puck reported that the American version of "The Office" is expected to return to life, with a reboot in the hands of original creator and executive producer, Greg Daniels.

The original adaptation, published at the time, is based on the British series by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, who are also among the producers of the American version.

Hardin did not address that specific report in the interview, but admitted that she had already spoken with Greg Daniels about plot possibilities for her character if there was to be a series or movie reboot.

"I was actually talking to Greg about some ideas," she said, "I thought it would be funny if Jen was like a self-help guru because she was so screwed up."

It should be noted that when Daniels himself previously addressed the possibility of a reboot, he said it might be with a completely different cast.

The series aired on NBC from 2005 to 2013, and its plot, if you can call it that, followed the workers at the Scranton, Pennsylvania branch of the paper supply company Dunder Mifflin.

Steve Carell starred in the series and played the socially inept branch manager Michael Scott, alongside, among others, John Krasinski and Jenna Fisher in the role of falling in love colleagues Jim and Pam, as well as Rainn Wilson in the role of the strange Dwight, Jim's enemy.

Karl left the series towards the end of its seventh season as it continued without him for two more seasons.

During its lifetime, the series won five Emmy Awards, including for Best Comedy Series in 2006.

Even after she ended her life, her popularity was maintained and even increased thanks to the streaming services.

In view of the continued success, there has been much talk over the years about the idea of rebooting the series.

It was also previously reported that it was on the table as NBC worked on the project in an attempt to slot it into the 2018-19 season.

At the time Carl was not involved, and the idea was to go back to the Scranton branch of Dunder Mifflin and include a mix of old and new characters.

The project ultimately did not come to fruition.

They have already tried to return it before.

In an interview with Walla!

Culture Stephen Merchant previously said about the idea of a sequel: "There's always talk of bringing 'The Office' back in some way, but for me it just ended a week ago. I know it didn't, but that's how it feels. Because it's been on so much times in reruns, and because it was so successful on Netflix, it feels to me that it never really ended. The idea of bringing it back now feels strange to me, like doing an encore while half the audience has already left the hall and the other half didn't even realize the show was over. I think it's better To wait for there to be a real sense of longing.

"If they really choose to revive the series, then I believe there is something in the DNA of 'The Office' that can always work.

It could be another office in another city, or as you suggested, it could be a Jim and Pam spinoff.

The real problem now is - do people still work in offices?

It may be that for an entire generation this idea of working in an office sounds far-fetched."

"I don't know how it will be received now."

Even Steve Carell himself has spoken out in the past and said that "The Office" would not work on today's television, mainly because of his character's inappropriate jokes about race and sexuality (among other things) almost every episode.

"It may be impossible to make this series today and have people accept it the way it was received ten years ago," Karl said at the time.

"So much of Michael was based on inappropriate behavior. I mean, he's definitely not an exemplary boss. A lot of what was portrayed in that series is completely wrong. That's the point, but I just don't know how it's going to be received now. There's a very high awareness of offensive things today - that's for sure Good. But at the same time, when you take such a character too explicitly, it doesn't really work."
