For the construction of mobile homes on wheels, the Fiat Professional Ducato is one of the most appreciated and loved commercial vehicles in Europe.
The latest confirmations in chronological order come from Germany, with the "Best base vehicle for camper" award awarded by the readers of the specialized magazine Promobil.
An award won by the Italian vehicle for the sixteenth time in a row which follows by a few months that of another prestigious German periodical, Auto Zeitung.
Promobil readers were able to choose from 270 camper series, divided into 10 different categories, and a total of 23 vehicles were admitted to the final vote as the basic vehicle.
Last September, the Ducato also came first in the "Camping Life Trophy", a prestigious survey organized by the German automotive magazine Auto Zeitung, emerging as the favorite in the "Basic camper models" category, thanks also to the good quality-price ratio of the model. Italian and driving comfort, as well as advanced driver assistance and infotainment systems.
In production for over 40 years, assembled in Italy in the Atessa plant in Val di Sangro, the current Ducato has one of its strong points in the versatility of the platform, integrated with Adas-type electronic driving assistance systems, such as emergency braking, lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, driver drowsiness warning and Intelligent Speed Assist.
Furthermore, for campers Fiat Professional has been offering a free telephone assistance service for years, in more than 50 countries and 15 languages, which ensures timely help in the event of mechanical problems but also for other types of travel-related information.
