With a completely new design, new Transit Courier offers 25% more load volume than the previous generation and can now carry two Europallets.

On the internal front, both the load compartment and the cabin have been designed to increase productivity and comfort while working, thanks also to a complete range of driver assistance technologies which has allowed Transit Courier to become the first van with Euro Ncap Platinum recognition with new and rigorous testing standards.

"The Transit Courier - commented Hans Schep, general manager Ford Pro Europe - responds to what our customers ask of us, such as the capabilities of a larger van, the dimensions of a compact van and the connection to Ford Pro services. Ford Pro's enduring market leadership gives us a unique perspective to understand customer needs and helps us provide them with even greater productivity."

The design innovations have also led to an increase in the length of the load compartment which now reaches 1,802 mm, while the new rear suspension design, with inclined shock absorbers, increases the available width between the wheel arches to 1,220 mm.

This means that the compact van can now carry two Europallets, for a total load volume of 2.9 m3, 25% more than the previous model.

Customers can now choose between standard and increased capacity, featuring dual response springs, to handle a maximum gross payload of up to 854kg.

All models come standard with 180-degree opening rear cargo doors and six floor lashing points.

LED loadspace lighting, rubber or wooden floor coverings and half-height load storage rails are available to help operators use the load area more efficiently.

Customers can also choose a double cab version to transport a work crew and their equipment.

The dual-cab van features a three-seat, 60/40-split second row that can be folded and flipped.

On the engine side, the new Transit Courier introduces a 125 HP variant of the Ford EcoBoost 1.0 petrol engine, offered together with the 100 HP version, both optimized to emit less CO2 and guarantee greater fuel efficiency compared to the previous generation.

The EcoBoost powertrain is paired with a six-speed manual transmission or a new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission to support customers who frequently drive in stop-start traffic.

For customers with higher mileages, a 1.5-litre 100PS EcoBlue diesel engine is available, paired with a six-speed manual gearbox.

Production of the petrol and diesel versions has already started at the Ford Otosan plant in Craiova, Romania, while the 100% electric version will arrive during 2024. Prices starting from 19,250 euros + VAT.
