A motorist was "miracled" last night in Schio (Vicenza), after his car went off the road and was literally impaled by a guardrail, which broke through.
The accident occurred shortly before 2.00 am in the town of Vicenza.
The protective barrier penetrated the car from the front, passed through the passenger compartment and exited from the rear, for about ten metres.
Luckily the artefact remained next to the driver's seat, who was completely unharmed and got out of the car on his own.
The firefighters, who arrived from the local detachment, made the car safe and cut the guardrail, to allow the car to be removed.
The police were on site to investigate the accident.
