2023 was a positive year for historic cars, so the Car&Classic platform has identified the interesting models for 2024, based on the growth margins they can have, and the driving pleasure they can offer.

As far as 1950s cars are concerned, the choice goes to a decidedly iconic model, the Citroën DS, which requires some sacrifices regarding the maintenance of its sophisticated hydraulic system, and for which, in Italy, prices can be obtained between 15 and 20 thousand euros for an example in good condition: this is a lower cost compared to cars on sale in France and the Netherlands.

The series to focus on?

Definitely the third, more mature and approachable.

    Among the 60s models, the Lancia Fulvia Coupé never goes out of fashion, it is a great classic, and can be found at reasonable prices.

Going up a decade, the Mercedes SL is the one to choose, recently the protagonist of the video for the song Angry by the Rolling Stones, its prices are on the rise but it is still at interesting prices, starting from 35 thousand euros;

the 500 version, the most coveted, instead costs around 60-70 thousand euros on average.

Also not to be underestimated is the Fiat 130 Coupé with its velvet interior, V6 engine coupled to a manual gearbox, and a line designed by Pininfarina: despite being available on a limited budget, it has enormous growth potential.

Arriving at the 80s, the Land Rover Range Rover 3.9 EFi could not be missing, one of the fathers of current SUVs, and still with good growth potential, also due to a large international community that keeps its interest high.

    Continuing into the 90s, the Alfa Romeo Coupé GTV and Alfa Spider 916 did not escape the attentive eye of enthusiasts, cars of timeless beauty that still travel at affordable prices, albeit uphill.

The variants with the 6-cylinder Busso engine, 2000cc turbo, or 3000cc 12 or 24 valves, are the most fascinating and those with the greatest prospect of revaluation, but also the most expensive, and in any case offer the possibility of always being resold well.

Another symbolic car of the 90s is the Audi TT series 1 with its bold design and great quality in mechanics.

A car with a formidable quality/price ratio, it is experiencing an increase in value for the examples with the V6 engine which, it is expected, will soon be followed by the examples with the 1.8 turbo engine.

Furthermore, among the models of this period, the Fiat Barchetta stands out, which costs around 7-8 thousand euros, in the case of cars in good condition, and offers great ease of maintenance, due to the numerous mechanical parts available.

More challenging, but decidedly fascinating, is the latest version of the Alfa Spider, with the 90s look and the unmistakable style that has made it known over time.

Among the classy supercars of the time, the Aston Martin DB7 stands out, which saved the company's fortunes, and is starting to see an increase in prices.

Thus we arrive at the 2000s, with another Mercedes SL protagonist, this time the one indicated by the project acronym R 23, characterized by the metal roof.

The first series, of historical interest, in good condition, have a price ranging from 20 to 30 thousand euros.
