Three hundred new full-electric Volvo EX30s, starting next spring, will circulate on the streets of Bologna and will be at the service of citizens who will use the Corrente car sharing of the Tper group, currently active in Bologna, Ferrara, Imola and Casalecchio di Reno with 82 thousand users, who use both both scooters.
In five years, 857 thousand car rentals were registered, for a total of 11.5 million kilometers travelled.
The new cars, all with a silver gray livery, were presented today.
"We started a free-flow and entirely electric car sharing in 2018. Today in renewing the fleet we have worked in the name of sustainability not only from the point of view of emissions but also with regards to the safety of the new EX30 cars", assures Giuseppina Gualtieri, president and CEO of Tper, underlining how the service was designed with a view to "intermodality and complementarity" compared to rail and road transport managed by Tper.
"With this project, car sharing in Bologna represents a new model for national car sharing - says the mayor Matteo Lepore - Volvo together with Tper is investing in a project which allows for 300 very comfortable cars and thanks to the subscription, in fact, it is free for those who use the car at an urban level".
"The agreement with Tper is of great importance for us because it arises from a sharing of values in favor of sustainability and, beyond territoriality, it is part of our strategy at a national level", concludes Michele Crisci, president of Volvo Car Italia.
