The photographic exhibition set up at the Piaggio Museum in Pontedera by Aprilia Racing and the Piaggio Foundation is entitled 'Aprilia seen from the East'.

In the exhibition spaces, from 25 January to 6 April, Aprilia talks about its sporting commitment between passion and technological research, thanks to the shots of the Japanese photographer Aki Kusudo.

The exhibition, curated by journalist Enrico Borghi, is a total immersion in the world of racing which, thanks to a series of large format images, tells of Aprilia's commitment to the most difficult and challenging motorcycle competition in the world, the MotoGP world championship.

Aprilia is today the youngest of the brands that have made the history of motorsport and is also the most successful European manufacturer in the MotoGP with 297 GP victories.

Committed to the premier class since 2015, it has reaped its first fruits in the last two seasons.

The images of Aki Kusudo, taken during the Japanese Grand Prix during the last season, also capture the moments of tension in the very tight deadlines of working on the track.

The visitor will be accompanied in the discovery of Aki Kusudo's photographic technique, thanks to original sound captions, downloadable thanks to QR code technology. The title of the exhibition arises precisely from the setting of the shots, which underlines the link between ancient and glorious rivals, such as they are in motorcycling Italy and Japan.

Two distant cultures in which competence and love for technological research have combined with a profound historical legacy of craftsmanship and extremely fine manufacturing.

Alongside the photos, as an essential element of the story, the Aprilia Rs-Gp 2023 is on display, i.e. the prototype which, ridden in the race by riders Aleix Espargaró and Maverick Viñales, which achieved three victories, twelve podiums and three pole positions in recent years .

The example, exceptionally displayed to the public, is the same bike with which Aleix Espargaró won the most recent English and Catalunya GPs, on the Silverstone and Montmeló tracks.
