It's called the CX-70 and it is, after the CX-60 and CX-90, the third SUV of the new generation Large Product Group that Mazda has developed and built for global markets.
And as happened exactly one year ago with the CX-90 large SUV with three rows of seats, this new model was also unveiled yesterday in California - due to its importance in the US market - by Mazda North American Operations.

Built on Mazda's new 'large' platform, the CX-70 was designed from the start with electrification in mind, with possibly a choice for now in the US between a straight-6 and a SkyActiv G 3.3 straight-6 Turbo with M-Hybrid Boost system or between a plug-in hybrid e-SkyActiv G.
The traditional qualities of the Mazda range have also been enhanced in the CX-70 SUV with the debut of several new assistance technologies.
In addition to Cruising & Traffic Support, for example, Unresponsive Driver Support makes its debut, which - as the name suggests - adds an automatic emergency system that decelerates and then stops the vehicle if the driver does not respond to alarms of increasing intensity.
Mazda emphasizes that the CX-70 has been designed with the driver in mind, with an emphasis on driving dynamics but also on the quality of life on board.
The passenger compartment is generous and so is the load space to accommodate family needs, sporting activities and hobbies.
Externally, the dynamic look of the CX-70 is emphasized with contrasting black accents throughout the exterior and 21-inch black metal wheels, elements that give the SUV - underlines Mazda - a unique appearance even when parked.
The interior has been meticulously designed with premium model features.
It is bright and open and at the same time protective and comfortable.
Materials and finishes are of high quality - such as the contrasting gray metal inserts - with the top represented by red Nappa leather (on request) combined with red stitching which is inspired by a special edition of the MX-5.
Also notable in the CX-70 is Alexa integration, which allows the driver to execute hands-free commands for requests ranging from changing the temperature in the cabin or searching for the radio station, to controlling their smart home devices.
All with the aim of reducing driver distraction and improving ease of use.
