The Ferrari Purosangue and the Abarth 500e are among the finalists for the category awards of the World Car of the Year trophy - powered by Brembo which will be awarded on March 27th at the 2024 New York International Auto Show.
The organizers have in fact announced the list of the Top Ten finalists for the overall title and that of the Top Five of each of the six categories, in which the two made in Italy models appear.
The models for this preliminary phase were chosen by secret ballot by the jury of over 100 international automotive journalists from 29 countries.
They did so - underlines the note - based on the evaluation of each vehicle based on the experience of professional activity.
The model that will be proclaimed the winner of the World Car of the Year 2024 will be chosen from among the ten finalists resulting from an initial list of 38 candidates.
They are Byd Seal, Ford Bronco, Hyundai Kona, Hyundai Santa Fe, Kia EV9, Mazda CX-90, Subaru CrossTrek, Toyota Prius, Volkswagen ID.7 and Volvo EX30.
The BMW i5, Kia EV9, Mercedes-Benz EQE, Volkswagen ID.7 and Volvo EX30 are competing for the award in the World Electric Vehicle category.
The World Luxury Car class sees BMW 5 Series, Lexus LM, Mercedes-Benz CLE, Mercedes-Benz E Class, Mercedes-Benz EQE competing.
The Ferrari Purosangue competes for the final prize as World Performance Car 2024 together with the BMW M2, BMW XM, Hyundai Ioniq 5 N and Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid.
In the 2024 World Urban Car class the finalists are Abarth 500e, Byd Dolphin, Lexus LBX, Suzuki Fronx and Volvo EX30. The organizers recall that all the cars competing in these five categories also compete for the World Car Design of the Year award which will be awarded by a jury of six world-class design experts.
