Morrissey, the soloist of the Smiths mythological band, will be performing at two shows in Israel on May 9 at Zappa Ampi Shuni and May 11 at booth 1 in the exhibition gardens. This is the fourth time Morrissey has appeared in Israel. Ticket sales start today at 8:00, and ticket prices start at NIS 254.

60-year-old Morrissey was born in Manchester, England. He began his musical journey in the late 1970s with several non-prolonged punk bands, in 1982, with guitarist Johnny Marr, he formed the Smiths Band, which gained tremendous world fame and made it a huge star. The Smiths created music ranging from alternative rock to indie pop, and Morrissey bluntly criticized the British monarchy for conveying messages of veganism and compassion for animals.

The Smiths recorded four iconic albums until they disbanded in 1987. Morrissey embarked on a successful solo career, and since breaking up he has steadfastly refused to share a stage with Marr, despite countless attempts to unite the band.

This is Morrissey's fourth visit to Israel, after successful performances in Israel in 2008, 2012 and 2016. In his previous visits, Morrissey stated that he opposed the cultural boycott of Israel and the movement, BDS and, at the end of one of his performances, even wrapped in the Israeli flag. Morrissey even received the key from Tel Aviv from Ron Huldai and promised to represent it worldwide. He later said he was not honored like that even in his homeland.

In his latest album, released in 2017, he even wrote a song called "Israel" and another song about "The Tel Aviv Girl Who Won't Kneel." The question is whether he will perform these songs in his performances in Israel.

On March 20, a new Morrissey album is expected to be released, and songs will of course be included in country performances.
