When 72 days had elapsed since the quarantine began, the Ministry of Health indicated that 637 were newly infected with coronavirus in Argentina and that in the last 24 hours, 11 other people died.

On the morning of this Sunday two new deaths were known. They are two women, 72 and 47 years old, residing in the City of Buenos Aires (CABA).

In the afternoon 9 more deceased were known. Five men, four of 62, 47, 91 and 57 years, residing in the province of Buenos Aires; one 86 years old, resident in the City of Buenos Aires (CABA); and four women, two 93 and 68 years old, residing in the City of Buenos Aires (CABA); and two, 67 and 85 years old, residing in the province of Buenos Aires.

Thus, the number of deceased is 539. While there are 16,851 positive cases in the country.

The City of Buenos Aires (358), the Province of Buenos Aires (254) and Chaco (13) were the regions that registered the most infections in the last 24 hours. 

Meanwhile, on Monday, 4,663 new samples were taken and 160,070 diagnostic tests for this disease were carried out since the outbreak began, which is equivalent to 3,527.6 samples per million inhabitants.

The main affected age groups of the registered cases correspond to people between 20 and 59 years old, with an average age of 37 years.

As reported by Alejandro Costa, Undersecretary of Health Strategies, with these figures the total case fatality rate fell to 3.3%, while the general mortality rate is 11.6 cases per million inhabitants.

Who also spoke this Sunday was the Buenos Aires Minister of Health, Daniel Gollán, when he warned about the future outlook in the event of a possible cessation of preventive and compulsory isolation due to the coronavirus implemented by the Government.

"If the quarantine is lifted, in 15 days we will have corpses piling up as they did in San Pablo or New York ," said the official.
