"First relief measures" of the re-containment could take place on December 1 if the health situation improves, but they would be "strictly limited to businesses that we had to close," Jean Castex said Thursday.
“Their reopening could only be considered on the basis of a reinforced protocol” and this first stage “cannot however concern other establishments open to the public or the risks of contamination are by nature higher, such as for example bars, restaurants and sports halls ”, added the Prime Minister during a press conference.
Prime Minister Jean Castex also wishes "to be able to allow a new relief" for the Christmas holidays, but considers "not reasonable to hope to be able to organize big parties", in particular for the New Year's Eve of December 31st.
"Our goal is to be able to allow further relief at the time of the Christmas holidays", so that the French "can spend the end of the year celebrations with their families," he explained during his press briefing.
But they will not be able "to behave in the same way as usual".
"It would not be reasonable to hope to be able to organize big parties for several dozen people, especially for Christmas Eve on December 31," he warned.
