(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 27 - The perturbation of Atlantic origin approaching Italy will lead to strong winds and snowfall in the next few hours also in the plains in the central-northern regions and, subsequently, in the south of the country.
Based on the available forecasts, the Department of Civil Protection has issued a weather alert that predicts gale force winds on Sardinia from today evening and tomorrow early hours on Liguria, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Tuscany, Marche, Umbria, Lazio, Abruzzo, extending to Campania, Molise, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria and Sicily. In addition, tomorrow snowfalls are expected up to lowland levels in Valle d'Aosta, Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto, the Autonomous Province of Trento, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Ligurian hinterland and Emilia-Romagna. The Department also assessed an orange alert for tomorrow's day on part of Emilia-Romagna and on the Gargano in Puglia. (HANDLE).
