A second huge evacuation-construction plan has been approved in the Bat-Galim neighborhood of Haifa, as part of which 725 new housing units will be built

A new huge evacuation-construction plan number 2 has been approved in the Bat-Galim neighborhood of Haifa, offering the construction of 725 new housing units.

The company selected as the initiator of the project is "Localization Training Urban Renewal".

In total, an addition of about 2,000 new housing units is planned in the four promoted renewal complexes in the neighborhood.

The Haifa Municipality stated that the plan was promoted according to the policy of Mayor Einat Rotem Klish, along with an in-depth public participation process that included, among other things, three conferences with the participation of hundreds of property owners.

The first plan for the evacuation of the "Navy" construction complex was approved about ten months ago, within the framework of its authority as a special independent committee.

The purpose of the plan is to begin a process of urban renewal in the neighborhood, which is considered to have great development potential due to the rare proximity to the water bay of Haifa Bay.

The plan was announced by the government several years ago as an urban renewal complex in a construction evacuation route and offers the demolition of 17 old residential buildings, including 178 small units. Instead of the old buildings, 725 units will be built in 11 buildings, combining textured construction of 9-story buildings. , Next to 31-34-story towers as well as surface and underground parking lots.

In addition, the plan also includes commercial areas and areas for public buildings, which will be used to increase the area of the "Aliya" school and to establish kindergartens and day care centers.

These renewal plans propelled the process of regeneration from the area, and thus the "Youth Aliyah Complex" was declared as a third construction evacuation complex.

The complex, located in the space between the "Navy" complex and the "Second Aliyah", will create a planning renewal sequence on the axis of the second Aliyah, which serves as the main street of the Bat Galim neighborhood.

In addition, the "Aliya 20" complex is being promoted as a fourth construction evacuation complex on the other side of the Second Aliyah axis, next to the Navy Hospital, and opposite Rambam Hospital. In the four renewal complexes together, an additional 2,000 new housing units are planned.

The mayor of Haifa, Einat Klish Rotem, welcomed the approval of the plan, which, as mentioned, joins other renewal plans on the agenda.

Chairman of the Subcommittee on Planning and Construction, Michi Alper: "The approved plan joins the activities of the Planning and Construction Committee, which has been leading dozens of large-scale construction and urban renewal programs throughout the city since the beginning of the current term.

As a result, we are in an unprecedented entrepreneurial momentum, with 170 entrepreneurial proposals currently being processed by the Engineering Administration. "
