The Portuguese airline TAP announced this morning that it is returning to operate direct flights from Portugal to Israel.
The flights on the Lisbon-Tel Aviv route will be operated from September 1 with a frequency of three flights a week.
The Portuguese company decided to operate the flights even though starting tomorrow, if there are no last-minute surprises, all returnees from Portugal will be charged with full isolation back to Israel, including vaccinated and recovering.

On the occasion of the return of the company's flights, it is offering special deals - $ 199 for flights to Lisbon and $ 239 for flights to Madeira, with a stopover in Lisbon.
These are very favorable prices both in comparison with EL AL flights to the destination and in comparison with the prices offered by the company before it stopped flying to Israel.
The morbidity situation is better than in Israel
The morbidity situation in Portugal is relatively good and there is a decrease in the rate of infection.
The weekly average is about 2,300 verified per day, with a population of about ten million inhabitants, similar to Israel.
For comparison, the average in Israel is more than double and stands at about 5,300 verified per day in the weekly average.
Portugal accepts Israelis without the need for isolation after arriving in the country.
Most of the attractions in the country are open including restaurants and shops.
Summer is the peak season in terms of tourism in the country and the weather in it is similar to that in Israel in terms of seasons.
