Oil heating systems will be taboo from 2026 at the latest, but Germany's largest heating engineering company Thermondo is already discontinuing sales. Since their new installation will be prohibited as early as 2024, there is currently an enormous demand for oil heating systems in Germany.

If the reform of the Building Energy Act comes as it is currently planned, from 1 January 2024, only new installations of heating systems with at least 65 percent renewable energies will be allowed. The first German heating manufacturer is already in the process of discontinuing its oil heating business.
