Princess Kate's new photo is branded as dubious.

The image published by Kensington Palace was withdrawn due to suspicions of manipulation.

Windsor – At first there was great cheering.

After over 70 days and a completely blurry photo in the car, the first photo of Kate Middleton (42) since her abdominal surgery on January 17th in London finally came.

The mother of three has been recovering since her 13-day hospital stay at the luxury clinic The London Clinc in her Adelaide Cottage in Windsor.

However, what had led to intense speculation was the fact that there had been no picture of the princess since her last official appearance on December 25, 2023.

Suspicion of manipulation: Agencies withdraw picture of Princess Kate and her children.

Then on Sunday there was a big sigh of relief.

On Mother's Day, the princess posted a picture with her three children via Kensington Palace on her Instagram account.

Prince William (41) should have done it.

But now everything is being questioned.

The image could have been edited or even created by AI.

The tip led to prominent news outlets around the world - including the Associated Press, Getty Images, Reuters and AFP - removing the photos from their press libraries and raising concerns about manipulation.

The picture is still offered, but has been given a note:

"The undated handout photo issued by Kensington Palace shows Kate, Princess of Wales, with her children, Prince Louis, 5, Prince George, 10, and Princess Charlotte, 8, taken in Windsor, earlier this week Princes of Wales.

The image provided is suspected of digital manipulation.

It could not be immediately clarified whether and, if so, to what extent the image was manipulated,” says the accompanying note from the dpa.

The first personal message from the Princess of Wales was eagerly awaited.

Most recently, the palace even had to issue a statement after conspiracy theories about the princess's whereabouts became rampant.

After the initial joy over the Mother's Day image (Britain celebrates Mother's Day 2024 on March 10) shared with the public on social media, concerns began to be expressed about the authenticity of the image.

An AP spokesperson released a statement to

saying, "The photo shows an inconsistency in the orientation of Princess Charlotte's left hand." Others have also noted inconsistencies in the orientation of the sweater pattern on Prince Louis' shoulder, as well as one jagged white line noted in the background near his knee.

According to a post on X (formerly Twitter) by ITV Royal reporter Chris Ship, the palace has not yet commented on the allegations surrounding the photo.

A clarification is eagerly awaited; calls for clarity regarding Princess Kate's illness have recently become louder and louder.
