Numerous rescuers were looking for a young woman in Munich.
A witness lost sight of them on the Isar.
Munich – A young woman was employed by the Munich fire department on Wednesday evening (March 13th).
“A man saw a person walking into the Isar on the Cornelius Bridge.
Despite all attempts to follow the person's path, he disappeared into the darkness," the emergency services report in a press release.
The passer-by became worried and called the fire department around 10 p.m.
Major operation in Munich: Witness loses sight of woman on the Isar
In Munich, the water temperature of the Isar is just below the 7 degree mark in mid-March, according to the Bavarian State Office for the Environment.
A large contingent went out on Wednesday evening to look for the young woman.
“The emergency services split up and searched the Isar with searchlights and the paths to the left and right.
A helicopter was on the approach to view the Isar from above,” the fire brigade describes the following measures.
A little later, the rescuers could breathe a sigh of relief.
The crew of an emergency fire engine discovered the woman shortly after the Reichenbach Bridge in the Isar.
She came back to shore on her own.
The crew of an emergency medical vehicle examined and questioned the woman.
Apart from wet feet, she had no further damage.
Out and about in the ice-cold Isar: woman was “looking for her music box”
The emergency services were finally able to determine the reason for their mysterious “mission”.
“When asked why she was in the Isar, she replied that she was looking for her music box.”
