A Naples university debate was canceled after a student protest on Friday against Italian universities' relations with Israel among other things.
The debate on the 'Role of culture in the context of a contested Mediterranean' at the Federico II University in Naples with the editor-in-chief of Repubblica newspaper Maurizio Molinari and the rector Matteo Lorito was canceled following the protest, in which students managed to break through a police line after someshoving and enter the faculty.
The event was canceled due to the tension in the Faculty of Engineering, School of Engineering and Basic Sciences, in the Fuorigrotta district, where the protest took place.
