Easter is coming.
Some meteorologists are predicting cool weather.
Others call any prediction at this point “nonsense.”
Munich – Mild temperatures, sunshine and more: Spring can already be seen in Germany in mid-March and the first buds are sprouting.
Meanwhile, many children are looking towards Easter.
Does the weather promise to be good?
Or does the Easter egg hunt have to be moved indoors?
At
IPPEN.MEDIA
, meteorologist Dominik Jung put together a long-term forecast.
Easter weather with a “real cold air egg”?
According to the long-term forecast from
wetter.de,
it will be cooler on Good Friday (March 29th).
Are we in for a frosty start to the holidays?
The portal writes about a “real cold air egg” that the Easter Bunny brings over.
“For the most part only single-digit values are expected during the day and slightly below zero at night.”
Will it be cold again at Easter?

According to the forecast, the temperatures in Germany are expected to become more pleasant again on Easter Monday.
However, it should be noted that long-term forecasts should be viewed with a certain degree of skepticism.
“Technical nonsense” – meteorologist classifies long-term forecast for Easter
It is not possible to “predict any cold air events around twelve days before the actual date,” says meteorologist Dominik Jung from
wetter.net
at the editorial network
IPPEN.MEDIA
.
He provided an explanation of what a cold air egg actually is from a meteorological perspective.
From a technical point of view, this is a peak.
“It brings cold air masses at high altitudes and is difficult to predict in the forecast.
“You can usually only estimate this accurately 24 to 48 hours in advance.”
Everything else is “technical nonsense,” according to the expert.
Easter forecasts are currently subject to uncertainty (March 18th), he continued.
Because the weather models would still jump back and forth.
“My tendency is towards 15 to 20 degrees.
Mild like spring.
The exact weather situation: Probably – like currently – a mix of sunshine and clouds.”

DWD also does not make a long-term forecast for Easter
A long-term forecast cannot be found at the German Weather Service (DWD).
As can be seen on the website of the experts from Offenbach, they limit their forecasts to a maximum of ten days.
In response to an inquiry from March 7th,
IPPEN.MEDIA
said: “Making a statement about the Easter weather would lack any seriousness.
This is only possible in an initial trend, seven to ten days in advance.” Most recently, storm Gabi “really caused a ripple” - and caused a violent change in the weather with thunderstorms.
