As night falls on Jeddah, the nightmare of reliving a season like 2023 is back.
A tasteless year ultra-dominated by Max Verstappen and his unstoppable Red Bull, winner of 19 of the 22 races on the F 1 calendar.
Concern ?
The 2024 vintage is already starting to taste the same.
2 races, and already 2 victories for the reigning Dutch driver.
And not in any way with a first hat-trick in Bahrain (pole position, victory, best lap) and a double (pole position, victory) “only” in Saudi Arabia this Saturday, the fault of Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) author of the best lap.
All without forcing his car at all, since the first competitor behind, his teammate Sergio Perez both times, remained far too far away (22 seconds in Sakhir, 13 seconds in Jeddah).
